Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka are among the favourites as the US Open returns to Pebble Beach for the first time since 2010.
The California course holds happy memories for Woods, who won by a record-setting 15 strokes when the 100th US Open was held there in 2000.
His performance as a 24-year-old remains one of the most dominant victories ever seen at a Major championship.

Both Tiger Woods, who won the Masters, and Brooks Koepka, who is coming off a victory at the PGA Championship and has won three of golf’s last five Majors including last year's tournament, will be among the field of 156 golfers trying to earn the U.S. Open title.
As with other major sporting events, there are plenty of ways to watch the tournament over the four days it’s airing from June 13 to June 16. From standard TV to your favorite streaming services, if you’re ready to watch what promises to be a compelling golf event this weekend, here’s how to do it:
Brooks Koepka will be trying to make history at the 119th 2019 U.S. Open, which begins Thursday at the famed and spectacular Pebble Beach Golf Club in Northern California.
Koepka, the two-time defending champion at this event, will try to become just the second golfer in history to win three consecutive U.S. Open championships, joining Willie Anderson (1903-05). Koepka, the world’s No. 1 golfer, is the hottest golfer in the world when it comes to competing in majors. Koepka won the PGA Championship in May, his fourth win in the last eight majors he’s played.
